FRANC . DESIGNS
DESIGNER PROFILE
FRANC.DESIGNS is an umbrella name I have given to my design practices. It is an abbreviation of my name Francesca. I am currently in my final year studying Menswear Design and Technology at Manchester Fashion Institute. I previously undertook a placement with CP International Clothing and Concept Asia creating designs, CADs, and spec packs for a multitude of different garments including casual wovens and highly detailed outerwear for a variety of high street and high end customers.

As a designer I am aiming to push the boundaries of trend conforming fashion, changing the way menswear is perceived by the fashion industry and the wider consumers. I love designing garments with the concept of tailored streetwear and while I class myself as a 'menswear' designer, I feel that my garments are interchangeable through any gender. This is something I am planning on actively including even more in my future designs, as fashion does not need to have a gender.
Furthermore, I believe in the concept of ‘slow’ fashion, producing high quality, unique clothing at a slower pace with a lot more care and detail, defying the modern phenomena that is fast fashion. Therefore my design practice will enable the garments to have a much longer life cycle, reducing the demand for fast fashion aiming to create an increasingly sustainable market. For me, the future of fashion is longevity and sustainability.
